I’ve said this many times before: I love traveling with my Carry On luggage only. Not only does it safe you money, it also saves your precious time. In addition, it forces you to re-evaluate your belongings and liberates you from the unnecessary items.
My father and I once went to Malta and despite my efforts, my father insisted on bringing a check in suitcase. Meanwhile, I had everything in my backpack – I even brought my own pasta so save some money! However, this way of traveling is not for everybody. Some people just want to enjoy their vacation and don’t care about additional fees. I get that. That being said, there’s a reason I managed to travel to so many countries in my 20s despite being dirt poor for the majority of that decade. Now in my 30s, my Asia trip will be a Carry On Only Trip as well.
I have traveled through the Baltic States and Finland during winter with one backpack and I would do it again. Because of my expertise on traveling lightly, I have developed a packing strategy to get the most of my carry on luggage.

Depending on your location, many cities make for a great weekend trip destination. One of my most frequented weekend destinations is Dublin. Click on the link to read all about the fun I had in Dublin! Another great city for a weekend trip is Riga, Latvia. Within a weekend, you can see everything and enjoy a beautiful culture at relatively lost cost.
